Anyone wishing to do extra can put the words into sentences.

I hope this will keep you busy for a few days. Any problems, feel free to contact me. Remember to get outside for fresh air and exercise when the weather is nice. Be nice, be kind and be helpful. Most important  - stay safe.

Welcome back

Good morning children. Well it's offically the end of the Easter holidays.I hope you all had a lovely Easter and didn't eat too much chocolate. We are still 'in lockdown' for at least the next 2 weeks. With that in mind, I am putting up work for you for this week. Don't worry if you can't do it all, just try your best.
Reading - read the whole book again - 1st class
              - pg 24 - 29 -2nd class
Tables - (-9)
Eng in Prac - pg 58 and 59
Mental Maths - Week 30
Spellings - Both Classes - knee, knit, calf, half, wrap, wrist, flow, note

                - For those of you on a different spelling list - bay, day, hay, lay, may, pay, ray, say, way,

If you are able to access the CJFallon website, look at Small World - 2nd class. Read pg 74 and 75 and answer the questions either orally with a parent or on a sheet of paper or spare copy if you have one.
The weather is lovely, so try to get out for some fresh air and a little exercise if you can. If you have a skipping rope, see how many skips you can do or if you have a football see how many kicky-ups you can do.

Be nice to each other, be kind to each other and help a little around the house but above all stay safe. I really miss you all and please God it wont be too much longer before I see you all again.

Tuesday 31st March

Hi everyone, I just thought I'd check in with you all again. I hope you are all doing well. I know this is a really difficult time for you all. It's hard to understand but we all need to follow the guidelines set out for us and we will get through this.
I hope you are all being good for your parents. It's all different and strange for them too. I know from my own house that it hard to be cooped up all the time...but it is hard for mammy or daddy too. So we all have to try hard to be patient with each other.
I'm sure you have all finished the work that was sent home with you already, so I've a few things to add to it to keep you busy.
1st Class
Mental Maths - Week 29
English in Practice - pg 56 and 57
Tables -8
Reading - pg 30 - 32
Spellings - song, junk, count, began, cling, drank, faint, birds, seven, point.
2nd Class
Mental Maths - Week 29
English in Practice - pg 56 and 57
Tables -8
Reading - pg 18-23
Spellings - song, junk, count, began, cling, drank, faint, birds, seven, point, swung, young, shrink, skunk, spent, white.
Communion booklet and learn prayers for First Confessions.

I know that some of you will be wondering about First Communion and all I can say is that I don't know what is happening yet. I'm in the same boat here myself as I have a child for First Communion and a child for Confirmation. We will just have to wait until the government say how long these restrictions will last. As soon as I know what is happening I will let you know. I will post the prayers for Communion up in a few days. For now, be nice to each other, try to get some fresh air and take very good care of yourselves. I miss you all.
Katrina Coyne.

Winter Art

We made Mosaic Penguins in Art.
We had lots of fun cutting and pasting.
The boys have bow ties and the girls have hair bows.
Don't they look smart?

Autumn Art

Our 3d Autumnal trees complete with a sprinkle of glitter add a little colour to our classroom.
